Culinary lesson : The art of finely cutting vegetables
Rani Radhakrishnan reflects on a lesson learnt:
Culinary notes during the lockdown (moong dal idlis)
From Jaswinder Bhabi:
Goga taught me yellow moong daal idli with veggies
Eno has to be used to make them soft and fluffy
I soak daal for about an hour and put it through a mixer. Then add whatever vegetables are available, Little salt and just before putting them into the moulds, put a big generous pinch of eno for 6 idlis and steam as usual.
I have made it with moong chilke wali daal too.... Split moong.... Comes out green... And more nutritious, ofcourse
Soul Maatee: Raveena Suri, the painter and potter
The bird plates are Raveena's creation for Bhup's birthday, yesterday. The bowl was a gift from her too. To such precious works of art, we say, " Yes, Please...thank you!" without the slightest pretence of demur!
( still struggling with the layout; Mallika managed to upload these from my phone...please bear with the sloppy layout till I get the hang of this blog)Monday, May 25, 2020
Doorva Bahuguna sings: Take it easy, Urvasi"s:

A poem by Sadhna Bahuguna
Hello Family! Welcome to your space!
Dear extended family,
There is creativity in all of us; in some it has flowered and come to fruition, in others it is blossoming, in some it's germination or in hibernation, and in some it may still be hidden, deep in the earth, waiting for the right blend of elements to quicken its Spring.
And while some of us are famous, others less so, and some remain in the shadows, or share with just a few.
So here is a space for all of us, and our hopefully growing, extended family ... a space to share your thoughts, your creativity... penning poems( Sadhna Bahuguna), innovating on recipes( Manav Suri, Rani, Jaswinder Bhabi, Mallika, ), creating videos( Doorva, Simran, Mallika), nurturing gardens( Bhup, Radha, Jayshree Jayachandran, Raveena), moulding clay and turning the wheel( Raveena Suri), designing interiors( Simran, Mallika), re-decorating homes( Doorva) developing mind blowing games( Abhishek), weaving ( Mallika, Meher), drawing( Zivanka)..... let the list keep growing, as you add and share!
I'm new to this tech tool, so please bear with me( GEN X ,please help!). The idea is to post, share, comment ( to encourage, not disparage) , learn and grow...
